What is PPEC?A PPEC (Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care) center is a nurse-staffed pediatric day care center for medically complex children age birth to 21 years. Our staff includes Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and Caregivers, who care for the children’s medical conditions throughout the day in classroom, dining, play, and clinical settings.

How much does it cost for my child to attend Banyan?The cost of services is covered by Medicaid.

Who can refer a child?Anyone involved in the care of the child can make a referral. To refer a child, visit our referral page or call us at 855-765-7999

What happens after my child is referred?After a child is referred, we will contact you for more information and to schedule your Initial Assessment at the center. While your child is being assessed, you will complete required paperwork. A Plan of Care will be created and sent to your child’s doctor for review and signature. The doctor-signed Plan of Care will be submitted to Medicaid, and your family will be contacted for a start date. The process usually takes about two weeks.

Do you offer transportation?We do offer daily transportation to and from the center, if needed. Please contact our Transportation Coordinator for more information.

Do you offer therapy?Banyan is proud to partner with Lampert's Therapy Group to provide occupational, physical and speech-language therapy to our centers.

Are meals provided?Banyan participates in the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program. We have three meal service times: breakfast, lunch, and snack.

What is the staff/child ratio?Our staff to child ratio is 1:3.
